Acrylic, gold leaf and oxides on extruded polystyrene.
The painting was part of the installation of 2018-2019 in the Florentine church of Orsanmichele, formerly also known as San Michele in Orto, and was a loggia originally built for the grain market, later transformed into a church of the Arts, the ancient Florentine guilds .
The work, including its twin, represents the future stairs of the New Heavenly Jerusalem, rich in gold and precious materials as described in the text of the Apocalypse.
